如果説上世紀70年代的情歌是委婉含蓄，那本世紀初的情歌就簡直是厚顏無恥了。這首是03年李克勤的歌, 是 Edmoud Tsang 作的曲，黄伟文的词。惭愧的很，我并不知到 Edmoud Tsang 是谁，只知道他写过不少出色的 Cantonpop。至于黄伟文，我只知道是近年出名的填词人。这首歌首先catch 我attention 的是他的钢琴伴奏，要是熟悉古典音乐的应该会认的它的前奏是 F Liszt 的 La campanella，而 Liszt 的 La campanella 则又是来自 Paganini 的Violin Concerto No. 2 in B minor。我第一次听的伴奏是趙增熹弹的，不错，但不很出色。后来才发现这个版本，这才有 Liszt 钢琴的神韵。这样的伴奏其实比较难跟着唱，因为伴奏里没有明显的旋律，拍子也难掌握，对于象李克勤一样没受过正式音乐训练来说不容易。不过，这首歌李克勤唱的很好，和朗朗的钢琴相得益彰。至于歌词如何，那就算见仁见智了。

Jeremy 是1973年的一套美国电影，讲一个纽约的拉大提琴的艺术学校的中学学生 Jeremy，喜欢上了一个同校学舞蹈的女学生 Susan。他们在 sophomore 年间，一同开始认识人生，并且彼此爱慕。然而，最终因 Susan 一家要举家迁往 Detroit，使他们初次面对分离的苦恼和前路的迷惘。这电影当年并不太红，但根据美国行为科学家 Dr Brian G. Gilmartin 的研究，当年 love－shy 的男性相当钟爱这电影。其中他的一个研究对象，一共看了这电影42遍，并且花了1000大元，买了这电影 16mm 的盗版片，尽管此人年薪才9000元。
这首电影的主题曲名字叫 The Hourglass Song，但很多人叫它作 Blue Balloon。这首歌的原唱者是电影里的男主角 Robby Benson。在电影里这首歌的伴奏是以钢琴为主，加上strings。而我比较喜欢 guitar 版，听起来更有年轻人初恋的情怀。这个版本是香港许冠杰的版本。许冠杰是香港 Rock n’ Roll 的鼻祖，早年他以唱英文歌为主。现在听起来，令人回味。

“Starry, starry night, paint your palette blue and grey…” Don McLean 的名曲之一，是民歌中的的杰作。这首歌是 Don McLean 在看完 Vincent van Gogh 的传记之后写的。这首歌的歌词隐含了不少有关 van Gogh 的作品和事迹。象其他的民歌一样，Vincent 的结构很简单，歌词却令人深思。当然，我们当年在camping 的时候，一边弹 guitar 一边唱这歌的时候，根本不会体会歌词里面的意思；只不过是在女孩子面前显摆一下罢了。二十多年的今天，虽然明白它想说些什么，但自问永远没法了解那一份歌词所描写的对艺术的执着和无人体会的沉郁。

Flamenco guitar 的独特风格是很吸引人，我刚开始学 guitar 的时候就学过一些 Flamenco guitar。它的节奏明快，大量使用了 syncopation，象 tango，rumba 等等都是 Flamenco 音乐的特色。而 harmony 方面，Flamenco 音乐中，保存了很多 Dorian mode，Spanish Phrygian mode 等地中海一带音乐的影响。如今 Flamenco 就像其他民族音乐一样，和 classical music，jazz 等等音乐相互融合，相当有活力。
但今天我想讲的并不是 Flamenco，我想说的是 Latin Jazz。Latin music 因着葡萄牙的关系，深受Flamenco 的影响。Latin Jazz 的节奏十分复杂，演奏其他而且十分困难。Al Di Meola 是 Latin Jazz 的大师，他善于写些很长的 melody line，而且速度十分快。他常用 Flamenco 的节奏，但 harmony 就偏向 Jazz。Di Meola 在 New Jersey 出生，在麻省 Berklee College of music 毕业。Berklee College of music 是应用音乐的殿堂，很多著名的流行乐坛的人物都从那里出身。王力宏是其中一个。Berklee 的 Jazz guitar 很出名，Al Di Meola 在那里毕业，可以说出于名门。Al Di Meola 的其中一首代表作就是 Mediterranean Sundance，这个版本是由 Flamenco guitarist Peco De Lucia，Jazz guitarist John McLaughlin 和他自己在灌录了 Friday Night in San Francisco，其中包括这首歌。
